Dissension among minority community leaders in ruling Congress in Madhya Pradesh over use of National Security Act ( NSA) against three youths arrested in connection with a cow slaughter incident in Khandwa in the state has come to the fore with a party MLA shooting down a letter to chief minister Kamal Nath voicing his concern over the development.

In a letter to the chief minister on Sunday, Congress MLA Arif Masood described the action by the local administration to invoke NSA against the three accused as arbitrary and demanded immediate transfer of the Khandwa district collector for it.

He regretted that the local district administration had slapped NSA against the three accused without listening to their versions of the incident. He also demanded action against cow vigilantes.

The AICC has made it clear that the party was not going to interfere in governance in MP, particularly on the issue over use of NSA by the Kamal Nath government against the criminals.
