Meat seller injured in Kamla Market shooting

A 23- year- old youth was shot late on Sunday night by two armed assailants in Central Delhi’s Kamla Market area. The accused were later arrested by the police and the victim is said to be in a stable condition. The victim, identified as Jubair, had an altercatio­n with the accused duo over some petty issues, police said on Monday.

The victim, a meat seller in the area, suffered injury in the thigh. The accused identified as, Javed ( 33), a native of Hapur in Uttar Pradesh and his associate Gulzar ( 27) of Mustafabad Delhi, were arrested after their vehicle’s registrati­on number was tracked down, police said. A pistol, alongwith with 29 live cartridges, was recovered from their possession.
