KEY ANNOUNCEMENTS AT SQUARE ENIX, UBISOFT AND UPLOADVR EVENTS

ASSASSIN’S CREED ODYSSEY

While no new Assassin’s Creed game was expected this year, the company managed to pull a fast one. Gamers of last year’s epic, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, will be able to design and play new quests. Ubisoft launched a beta version of a web-based to tool that allows gamers to design their own quests. Later, the game will also be getting a “discovery” mode that looks similar to the educational mode from Origins.

WATCH DOGS: LEGION

Ubisoft revealed the third Watch Dogs game, which shifts the setting to a near-future, post-Brexit London. The twist is that you can assume control over virtually any character in the game, letting you build up a diverse squad of vigilante hackers. The game will come out next March.

GHOST RECON: BREAKPOINT

Punisher star Jon Bernthal is set to play a major role in the game that would be launched on October 4.

GODS & MONSTERS

The team behind Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is working on their next project called Gods & Monsters that delves into Greek mythology. The stunninglooking game will be out on February 25.

FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE

After announcing the release date for the game yesterday, Square Enix today showcased the trailer for the game. The company also said that it will remaster Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles. The remaster will come to a wide range of platforms, including PS4, Switch, iOS, and Android later this year.

RAINBOW SIX QUARANTINE

Ubisoft also teased the next Rainbow Six game, a co-op experience slated for release next year. It’s called Quarantine, and is described as “a squad-based survival FPS”.

FINAL FANTASY MUSIC

The show had a lot for the fans of Final Fantasy. The company revealed further details that the music will now be available for streaming in Spotify and Apple Music

AVENGERS ASSEMBLE

Finally, we got a glimpse of the much-awaited Avengers that will sure leave Marvel fans waiting for Thanos’ snap. Well, the game, which will be launched in May 2020, got its first trailer and gave us a first real look of Avengers post-MCU look.

BUDGET CUTS 2

Budget Cuts 2: Mission Insolvency seens to offer most of the same elements of it predecessor. But only in a much bigger manner/ The game, which will be released later this year, supposedly focuses more on open-ended infiltration missions as the player attempts to take down TransCorp. FINAL FANTASY VIII

The oft-ignored Final Fantasy VIII will be making its way to the PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and Steam later this year.

ONINAKI

Known for its JRPGs, Tokyo RPG Factory’s third game, Oninaki, is an action RPG that is scheduled for launch in August and would be available on Switch, PS4 and Steam.

AFTER THE FALL

At E3, developer Vertigo Games announced a new co-op shooter called After the Fall. Set in an alternate 2005 amid the ruins of postapocalyptic Los Angeles, the player will have to explore the hostile landscape, craft gear, and take on hordes of enemies. The game will be released in 2020.
