An exciting clash between Pollard XI and Bravo XI, comprising players from the Caribbean Premier League team, Trinbago Knight Riders, at Port of Spain on September 1, will mark the inauguration match of The Selector App that is set to revolutionise cricket.

This unprecedented concept that was launched on Wednesday by cricket legend Virender Sehwag in the capital will empower fans with the responsibility of having a say in a match. Just by downloading the app and getting the subsequent free credits, avid lovers of the game will get a chance to be a part of a revolution

called the Fan Decision System (FDS).

From picking the starting XI to choosing the on-field captain to calling the toss, deciding the batting order and making bowling changes, fans will have a

proper involvement of being the crucial decision-maker in a live match. To get the vital credits necessary for being the selector, one can refer the app to build up the credits or take part in a daily

quiz which goes live at

9PM IST every day.

“This is a unique app that takes fan engagement to the next level,” said Nalin Khaitan, vice chairman, Khaitan Holdings Group (KHG), who envisaged and conceptualised the app. “This is now reality. The app becomes active only during the build-up of a selected live match. This app can be used by other existing products to further fan engagement.

“We aim to connect with and organise similar matches with major leagues in the future as well,” he explained.

The Selector Fans Cup on September 1 will witness the grand debut of the app where cricket enthusiasts can choose the playing XI from the 15-member squads of each team.

While Sehwag launched it, he chose Brian Lara, the other brand ambassador of the Selector App, as one of the team members of Bravo XI that could give the fans a priceless opportunity to see the West Indies stalwart weave magic with his bat once again during this match, if they vote for him.

“I have chosen Lara because I love watching him. I have selected him and I hope people will vote for him so that I can watch him,” said Sehwag.

“To see Lara bat, even if it is just for a day, is also a treat for fans like me,” the Nawab of Najafgarh added.

The app is now available on all app stores on Android and Apple stores as well.
