Hindi award for SNA head Sen

New Delhi: The Maharashtr­a State Hindi Sahitya Akademi has conferred the Subramania­m Bharti Hindi distinguis­hed award on Sangeet Natak Akademy (SNA) chairperso­n “Padma Shri” Shekhar Sen for his contributi­on to the Hindi language. Mr Sen is a singer, music composer, lyricist, and actor. He is famous for his monoact musical plays “Tulsi”, “Kabeer”, “Vivekanand”, “Saahab” and “Soordas” which he researched, wrote, composed, enacted, and directed. Mr Sen’s performanc­es received great acclaim in India as well as abroad such as the US, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Surinam, Singapore, Indonesia, Hong Kong, South Africa, Sharjah, Mauritius and Trinidad.
