SKATERS DOMINATE
Athletes from Delhi and Andhra Pradesh dominated the 16th National Ice Figure Skating Championship that concluded at iSKATE ice skating rink & cafe at Ambience Mall, Gurugram, this weekend. The sixteenth edition of event saw 100 figure skaters from all over India in action.
The figure skating championship was conducted in various age groups independently for boys and girls. There were distinctive classifications like solo and synchronized skating. The jury comprised of experienced figure skating coaches - Mr. J. S. Sahney, Mr. Vasu dev Tandi, Mr. NishchayLuthra and Mr. Pavan Kumar Akula.
Team from Andhra Pradesh emerge champions in the synchronised skating category ahead of Delhi and Uttarakhand, respectively.
In the Above 19 category Delhi’s Parrii Srohi came first in the girls category. Second prize also went to Delhi girl Simran Chugh and Elisetty Pallavi from Andhra Pradesh stood third. Andhra Pradesh boy Arun Kumar Rayudu took the spot while statemeate Pratham Tated was second and Vyshnav R. Nair of Kerala was third. Ishita Kapoor from Delhi and Andhra Pradesh’s Priyam Tated took the top honours in the age 15-19 category.
In the 13-15 age group Andhra Pradesh girl A. Sai Samhita and Delhi’s Manit Singh came first while in the 10-13 age group both the top spots went to Delhi kids Aanya Singh (girls) and Aaditabh Gupta (boys).
In U-10 section B. Sri Sahiti from Andhra Pradesh and Uttarakhand boy Aadarsh Singh Rawat came first. The sixteenth edition of event saw 100 figure skaters from all over India in action
