Jamshedpur FC register consecutive wins in ISL
Jamshedpur, Oct. 29: Jamshedpur FC registered their second win on the trot by defeating Hyderabad FC 3-1 in a Hero Indian Super League match at the JRD Tata Sports Complex here on Tuesday.
Farukh Choudhary tapped a loose ball home in the 34th minute to convert his team’s dominance into a goal.
Marcelinho scored an unlikely equaliser in the 45th minute but Jamshedpur regained control after the break with goals from Aniket Jadhav (62nd) and Sergio Castel (75th).
The result took Antonio Iriondo’s men to the top of the table while Hyderabad are yet to open their tally.
The hosts surged forward looking to take an early lead and tested Hyderabad custodian Kamaljit Singh when Isaac Vanmalsawma opted to shoot from outside the box in the eighth minute.
CHENNAIYIN FC EYES FIRST WIN OF SEASON
Chennaiyin FC take on ATK in a clash of former champions in an ISL game in Chennai on Wednesday, eyeing their first win of Season 6.
However, the task is easier said than done as the Kolkata team are coming off a 5-0 thrashing of Hyderabad FC at home on Friday last.
Chennaiyin FC, to their credit bounced back from 03 hammering at the hands of FC Goa in the opener, to pick up their first point courtesy a goalless draw against Mumbai City FC on Diwali day (October 27).
Though CFC kept a clean sheet, head coach John Gregory would be concerned with the fact that the defence appeared shaky at times.
Also, he would be hoping that the forward line gets cracking and finds the net.
It was a night of missed opportunities as CFC and Mumbai City muffed chances with the former getting a lion’s share of attempts.
Brazil’s attacking midifelder Rafael Crivellaro and Anirudh Thapa created several chances against Mumbai City and the coach will expect him and Maltese striker Andre Schembri to deliver in the games to come, starting with the one against ATK.
