Every girl at some point in life drifts to a fantasy world and dwells in the idea of a perfect wedding. Living in a country where weddings are some of the biggest investments, its destination is scrutinised with a hawk’s eye. With celebrities setting the bars high by splashing glamour in their extravagant weddings at beautiful locales, a destination wedding is now a hot topic among families. So we went ahead and compiled a list of few of the best hidden gems in the country to consider as a destination for your wedding.

Jaipur is surrounded by the scenic Aravalis and the city is beautifully dotted with hill forts.

Simran Kaur, a resident of the capital, speaks about choosing a palace in Jaipur for her wedding. “The two of us always wanted our wedding to be a big fat royal Rajasthani affair! Jaipur is beautiful in October, so everything came together perfectly!”. Simran was specific about this location because, “Beach weddings have the disadvantage of humidity and the hills weren’t the most logically friendly for us,” she shares.

Bhargav Bachala, a resident of Ongole, Andra Pradesh, speaks about making Coorg his first choice. “We chose it because it’s not a stereotypical destination. It’s a little secluded and a less chaotic destination which makes it incline to nature.” He adds, “We could have chosen someplace by the beach like Goa or Pondicherry, but we felt that those places have been overdone.”

Ritu Kabra choose the lush, green and scenic views of Mahabaleshwar to host her special day. She says, “The beautiful stone structures overlooking the hills, the wedding garden with a view, was just the right way to make my important day memorable.” The gastronomic food culture of the place had a role to play in her wedding. “Mahabaleshwar is famous for its strawberries and corn. This was incorporated in every meal” says Ritu.

Priya Bardia was blown away by the varied tribal hertiage and the lush greenery of Silvassa. Priya says “My parents were more than happy to have Silvasa as the wedding destination because of the spacious property, good catering options, and lavish rooms for accommodating all their relatives”.

The idea of having destination wedding is slowly changing to people exploring different locations and stepping out the usual.
