Jawan killed in J&K gunbattle
Jammu: A soldier was killed in a gunbattle with terrorists who, aided by the cover fire by the Pakistan Army, tried to cross the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district on Friday, a defence spokesman said.
An Indian Army soldier was killed on Friday during infiltration bid by terrorists at Krishna Ghati sector in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.
A PTI news agency report said that the terrorists could be part of BAT team, who had infiltrated into this side of LoC to attack an Army listening post. On the night of 7-8 November 2019, Indian Army noticed “suspicious movement of terrorists” in the area along with ceasefire violation by the Pakistan Army. The Indian Army ambushed the infiltrating terrorists. “However, in the exchange of fire, Sepoy Rahul Bhairu Sulagekar sustained gunshot wounds
and was evacuated to a Medical Aid Centre wherein he was provided medical aid,” said a
spokesperson. However, Sepoy Sulagekar succumbed to his injuries and died on Friday.
