RAJASTHAN CM Ashok Gehlot recently vowed to eradicate ghunghat and child marriage from his state. That is commendable. But why eradicate ghoonghat only, when face veils of Muslim women in the form of burkha are simultaneously prevalent? Is it because then the government has to take on bigger institutions like the seminaries and the radicalised Islamic religious establishment as well as incur the wrath of the Muslim votebank?
