Soren govt lacks sensitivity: BJP
Demanding a probe by a central agency into the brutal killing of seven tribal youths by the “socalled” Pathalgarhi activists in Jharkhand’s West Singhbhum district for allegedly opposing the revival of the self-rule movement, the BJP on Thursday accused the Hemant Soren led state government of being “insensitive” and “trying to cover-up” the case by calling it an outcome of a “personal feud.”
Recalling how the leadership of the Congress, which is part of the ruling coalition in the state, had made a hue and cry over a recent mob-lynching case in the state, is silent over the killing of tribal youths, the BJP reminded the state government that Pathalgarhi activists do not believe in the Indian Constitution. The BJP has also demanded a `20 lakh compensation for the family of the victims. “The first thing that the chief minister (Hemant Soren) had said after taking oath was that his government will withdraw cases against those who disrupted the law and order situation in the name of Pathalgarhi. Then he went at the village (Burugulikera in Guddi block) and claimed that marne wale bhi merae and maarne wale bhi merae .... he ignored
the fact that these seven were brutally murdered for questioning the Pathalgarhi supporters about how villagers will be affected if they do not avail the schemes meant for them..the government is trying its best to coverup the case,” said BJP MP from Jharkhand Samir Oraon.
