Priya’s first Bollywood number
Priya Prakash Varrier has officially wrapped up the shooting of her Bollywood film Sridevi Bungalow with Arbaaz Khan and Giorgia Andriani, and she has also shot a promotional number for the film in Mumbai this week.
“I am always conscious when I am dancing. I have only taken training in Carnatic (dance), and this is my first Bollywood number. I am really excited that I am sharing space with both of them (Arbaaz and Giorgia),” says the actress. As for Giorgia, she worked on rehearsing for the song as well before the dance number was filmed. “I took some training for this song and practised for a couple of days for this. As such I do a lot of riyaaz (practise), because I am also doing kathak and a few other disciplines,” says the newcomer actress, who was also seen in the web series Karoline Kamakshi along with Tamil actress Meena.
The Italian actress and model will also be seen in the film Welcome to Bajrangpur with Shreyas Talpade, directed by Ashish Kumar Dubey and produced by A Wednesday producer
Anjum Rizvi.
As for Arbaaz, who has directed Dabangg 2, he did feel good watching Giorgia at work. “I am very happy and excited. She has really worked hard and done well too. I saw the rushes and I know she is going to score well. As for Priya, she is a live wire and she has really been a sensation since her wink (in her Malayalam film Oru Aadar Love) and both of them have done well,” he muses.
The actor and filmmaker says Giorgia is still a little nervous working with him. “When I work with people I know, my comfort levels are much more. But, of course, when you work professionally with people who you don’t know, you tend to get there. She is a bit conscious when she works with me, but then it is just for a moment. When the camera switches on and the shot it ready, it just kind of fades away,” Arbaaz concludes.
