Panel to probe into Telangana staff grievances

-

Hyderabad: The Government of Andhra Pradesh today announced constitution of a high power committee to go into representations of both gazetted and non-gazetted employees of Telangana region and to advise the Government on action to be taken in each case.

The appointment of the committee was in response to a recommendation of the Telangana Regional Committee in August last year, the announcement said.

The committee will be headed by Mr. Nasirullah Beg, former Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court, and will consist of Mr. Ekbal Chand, Member Board of Revenue and Mr. C.R. Krishnaswamy Rao Saheb, Special Secretary to Government, Revenue Department.

The committee may, if it so desires, co-opt the Secretary to Government or the Head of the Department or their representatives or both to assist the committee in the disposal of the petitions.

The terms of reference of the committee include examination of grievances of the Telangana service personnel on non-compliance with any directive of the Government of India regarding the equation of posts and integration of services and non-observance of any special provisions in the matter of recruitment, promotion and pay intended for safeguarding the service conditions of the Telangana employees.

The committee would, however, not deal with grievances relating to relative seniority in the integrated cadres since there were already statutory advisory committees to enquire into grievances of this nature.

After examining such grievances, the committee will tender its advice to Government.
