To release as decided?

The most awaited films of 2020 are undoubtedl­y the Vishnu Vardhan Induri-produced Ranveer Singh starrer and Kangana Ranaut starrer Thalaivi. The former was slated to release on April 10 and the latter on June 26, which means that director Kabir Khan and his team should have begun their promotiona­l run by now.

However, according to our sources, a promotiona­l event for which was slated for March has been postponed. Producer

Induri confirmed the news. “Yes, we were to begin the promotiona­l activities of our soon to release film 83, but owing to the (coronaviru­s) pandemic, we had to postpone it,” he revealed, adding that the release date stays the same.

“The release date is as per the scheduled date. Any changes in the release date owing to the pandemic, have not been discussed yet,” shares Induri.

As for Thalaivi, the producer updates, “We have completed 65 percent of our film. We were busy shooting until March 18 until we received a notice from the joint meeting in Mumbai held between IMPPA,

FWICE, IFTDA, IFTPC that stated owing to

COVID-19, film and TV shootings across India are to stop from March 19 to 31. So we have stopped the shooting of Thalaivi, and we will be good to go only after we receive any further notice,” he clarifies.

Lastly, he advises citizens to prioritise safety first. “We have to be socially cautious; health matters above all. And we need to comply with the present situations. Nothing can be done about it. We have to wait for the correct informatio­n from the concerned authoritie­s,” he concludes.
