Modi shares pics of him doing yoga

New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi on Monday shared 3D animated videos of him performing yoga on Twitter to show how he remains fit. “During yesterday’s #MannKiBaat, someone asked me about my fitness routine during this time. Hence, thought of sharing these Yoga videos,” he tweeted.

“I hope you also begin practising Yoga regularly,” he wrote.

While controvers­y rages over the plight of the massive exodus of the migrant workers and policy decisions as the country battles the Covid-19 pandemic, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday shared 3D animated videos of him performing yoga on Twitter after he was asked about his fitness routine. On the sixth day of the 21 day nation-wide lockdown to combat novel coronaviru­s, the 3D animated videos — ‘Yoga With Modi’ — were uploaded on Mr Modi’s Twitter handle in 24 different languages.

Apart from English, videos were available in Mandarin, French, Arabic, Korean, German, Persian, Japanese, Russian, Italian and Spanish. Other than Hindi, the videos were available in Indian languages including Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, Telugu, Tamil, Odia, Kashmiri, Malayalam, Kananada, Assamese and Punjabi. During his monthly radio progamme Mann Ki Baat.

On Sunday, the Prime Minister was asked by a caller as how he remains fit and also his fitness routine. While adhering to social distancing as appealed by the government and most people working from home, the Prime Minister had asked people to remain fit and healthy and suggested practicing yoga during the lockdown.

However, the Prime Minister had clarified that he was not a yoga teacher but a practition­er.
