Tejashwi’s Gopalganj visit stopped

- NAYEAR AZAD

Amid high voltage drama outside former chief minister, Rabri Devi’s official residence on Friday, Tejashwi Yadav and other RJD functionaries were denied permission from visiting Gopalganj district to carry out a protest against the triple murder incident in which JD(U) MLA Amarendra Pandey alias Pappu Pandey is allegedly involved.

According to officials here, RJD leaders were stopped due to the lockdown which has been imposed in the wake of the coronavirus crisis in the state.

The state administration also later deployed Rapid Action Force (RAF) and additional police force as Tejashwi Yadav’s supporters gathered outside Rabri Devi’s residence and raised slogans against the Bihar government.

Accusing the state government and the administration of shielding the JD(U) MLA, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav told this newspaper that “they are not arresting the criminals but stopping us from meeting the victim’s family members.”
