Slant being given to them

The two biggies in T-wood are not on the same page and efforts of the Film Industry to get Government permission for resumption of film shootings have taken an ugly turn, with a community

Of late, several leading Tollywood personalities, led by Megastar Chiranjeevi, have been meeting people in the industry and also Government officials, including the Telangana Chief Minister and the Cinematography Minister, to work out modalities on re-starting film shootings. The Government, reportedly, has been working on guidelines for the same.

However, recent comments by actor Balakrishna and others in key posts in apex bodies have vitiated the atmosphere. There’s a clear divide in the industry.

Balakrishna had claimed that though he had given inputs for the resumption of film shooting, he was kept in the dark when Chiranjeevi decided to lead a delegation meet the ministers.

Later, a secretary in an apex body commented to a producer on the presence of director Meher Ramesh in almost all the meetings on the issue, and alleged that he was being included because he belonged to the same community as Chiranjeevi!

Many people who were involved in the exercise to resume shootings are vexed with the turn of events.

“It has been given a communal colour and I don’t want to comment on it,” said a producer who had been helping the Chief Secretary to prepare the guidelines.

Tagore Madhu, whose film Krack only needs a few days to be completed, said, “It’s very unfortunate and I completely condemn the comments made by Balakrishna. The

I completely condemn the comments made by Balakrishna. The language he used was in poor taste. What Chiranjeevi did was not for any personal gain, it’s for the welfare of the film industry.

— TAGORE MADHU, language he used is not good at all.”

He added that people like Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna, Rajamouli, Trivikram Srinivas, Gemini Kiran, Suresh Babu and many others had taken the initiative for the welfare of the industry as a whole. “It’s not for any personal gain, it’s for the welfare of the film industry,” Madhu stressed.

HARD WORK UNDONE!

Damodara Prasad of Active Telugu Producers’ Guild said, “Things were almost finalised. But all the good work done in the last few days has been destroyed by some irresponsible comments.”
