A double web bonanza for Bobby?

-

The Class of ’83, a digital project of Netflix and Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment, starring Bobby Deol, was slated to stream in August, but the exact date was not announced. And now, a web series with Bobby on another digital platform, is also being readied.

In The Class of ’83, Bobby plays a tough cop and the dean of the police academy in the early ’80s. Given a punishment posting at the academy, he trains five officers who will teach the establishment a lesson — and it backfires.

The film, which went on the floors last year in May, is directed by Atul Sabharwal. The cast includes Anoop Soni and Abhishek Bhalerao.

In the new web series, which also stars Chandan Roy Sanyal, Aaditi Pohankar Darshan Kumaar, Adhyayan Suman and Anupriya Goenka, the 51-yearold actor plays a controversial baba. The series was being filmed at Ayodhya last year amidst a lot of issues.

“The two have different subjects, and while one is a film, the other is a web series. Netflix has still not put out a streaming date for the film and there are chances that Bobby Deol may end up with a double bonanza this month on the web,” say sources.
