BJP will form next govt in Odisha: Nadda
‘ Saffron party determined to improve lives of farmers in the state’
Bharatiya Janata Party ( BJP) national president J. P. Nadda on Saturday expressed confidence that the saffron party will form the government in Odisha. Addressing the party’s virtual state executive meeting, Mr Nadda said: “The days are not far when we will form government in Odisha. We take the vow.”
“In 2014 Lok Sabha election, we got 21 per cent votes, while the tally increased to 38 per cent in the 2019 elections. We need to be determined to get 50 per cent votes in the ensuing polls,” the BJP chief said while lauding party workers’ effort for reaching out to people during Covid- 19 pandemic.
“BJP is determined for the betterment of Odisha farmers. The Union government has provided ` 18,000 crore under PM Kisan Yojana’s second instalment,” Mr Nadda informed.
Lauding Narendra Modiled
government’s effort in containing the spread of the virus, Mr Nadda said:
“More than 10 lakh tests are being conducted everyday in the country. Moreover, free rations are being provided to the denizens ensuring food for all.”
India not only took the bold and timely step of imposing a lockdown to save the lives of 1.3 billion people from Covid- 19 but also took care of the economy to turn the tragedy into an opportunity, Mr Nadda said.
While powerful nations were helpless in combating the pandemic, Prime
Minister Narendra Modi was clear in his mind as he took the decisive action of imposing the lockdown in order to save the lives of the people, Mr Nadda added.
Meanwhile, BJP Odisha unit chief Samir Mohanty alleged irregularities in Covid- 19 management and vendetta politics by rulingBJD during the party’s state executive meeting attended by vice president Baijayant Panda and Union minister Dharmendra Pradhan among others.
