PM Modi speaks to Prez Biden; leaders agree to boost ties
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to US President Joe Biden on Monday and discussed a host of regional issues and their shared priorities, with both leaders looking forward to consolidating strategic partnerships to further peace and security in the Indo-Pacific region and beyond. This was their first conversation after Mr Biden assumed office last month. In a tweet, Mr Modi said the two leaders agreed to further their cooperation against climate change.
New Delhi, Feb. 8: Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to US President Joe Biden on Monday and discussed a host of regional issues and their shared priorities, with both leaders looking forward to consolidating strategic partnerships to further peace and security in the Indo-Pacific region and beyond.
This was their first conversation after Biden assumed office last month.
In a tweet, Mr Modi said that he conveyed his best wishes to the US President, and the two leaders agreed to further their cooperation against climate change.
“President Biden & I are committed to a rulesbased order. We look forward to consolidating our strategic partnership to further peace & security in Indo-Pacific region and beyond,” Mr Modi tweeted.
Earlier on January 20, Mr Modi had congratulated Joe Biden for assuming office as the 46th President of the US. “My warmest congratulations to @JoeBiden on his assumption of office as President of the United States of America. I look forward to working with him to strengthen India-US strategic partnership,” he had tweeted.
