The Queen star is being cast opposite Nagarjuna in an upcoming film directed by Praveen Sattaru. The director was looking for an actress who can match and complement Nag’s screen presence in the action thriller. Apparently, the casting call for the leading lady has been on for quite some time. After an extensive search, Praveen has finalised Anikha for the role. He was reportedly very impressed with her performance in Queen.

“After conducting a look test for the actress, the director was convinced that she was perfect for the part. Anikha will join the sets of the film shortly,” says a source close to the unit.

Since Nag has chosen to do an action thriller with a new-age filmkmaker like Praveen, the film has garnered a lot of curiosity. This is the kind of a genre his fans have been waiting for

Skin icing seems to the latest rage, with celebrities and influencers making it a part of their skincare rituals and posting about its many benefits on social media.

Actress Katrina Kaif took to Instagram to share her morning ritual of dunking her face thrice in a bowl filled with ice-cold water. Alia Bhatt too swears by skin icing. She once said, “If I wake up in the morning and my face is very puffy, I just dab some ice on it.”

“Skin icing as beauty regime has been used for ages. It reduces pores, acne, blemishes, bags under the eyes and swelling, and refreshes tired skin,” says Dr Padmavathi Surapaneni, senior dermatologist, and cosmetologist at Pragna Skin Laser Clinics.

A basic cube of ice will do a lot of good to the skin, believes Dr Padma.

HOW IT HELPS

Ice reduces the temperature of the skin, leading to constriction of capillaries and reduced blood flow for that moment. “When the cold stimulus is removed, the natural response of the body will dilate the capillaries and increase the warm blood-flow to the skin. This increased circulation will flush out all the toxins as well as improve nourishment to skin. Regular icing will improve skin health,” says Dr Padma.

DOING IT RIGHT

“Nowadays, many ice packs are available, which include Aloe Vera and other antioxidants. We usually use ice rollers in our clinic after procedures like chemical peeling and lasers to calm down the skin,” says Dr Padma. “You can apply ice cubes wrapped in a soft cloth,” she cautions. “Avoid applying ice directly to the skin. An alternative is to dip your face in a bowl of water to which ice cubes have been added. Do not ice your skin for more than 15 minutes,” she warns.

Advocates of ice facials suggest rolling four or five ice cubes in a soft cotton cloth. The circular massage can be performed a few times every day on your jawline, chin, lips, nose, cheeks and forehead.
