Amitabh Bachchan has been complaining about a tooth that has been troubling him for a while now on social media. But when he shared an update about his health on his blog stating, “Medical condition ...Surgery ... Can’t write,” his extended family on social media, or EF as he calls them, went into an overdrive, wondering what was wrong.

“It could just be a dental surgery for all we know. It is also informed that Senior Bachchan had gone in for a cataract operation,” says a source. Fans are now awaiting an official statement from the actor.

Throughout the 53 years in filmdom, Bachchan has battled many maladies, including Myasthenia Gravis, Tuberculosis, Hepatitis B, a damaged left hand because of a cracker blast and the almost lethal punch on his solar plexus delivered by Puneet Issar on the sets of the 1983-film, Coolie.

Bachchan had also suffered a rib fracture on the sets of the 2018-film Thugs of Hindostan. Just before that he also had another back pain, which got him to miss an event around Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s Bollywood sojourn, for which he had to call medics to treat him.

Last year, Big B, with other members of his family, was diagnosed with COVID-19, leading to many fans and followers worrying for the septuagenarian. But he came out of it rather strongly and has been working on a few projects.

He was last seen shooting for the Ajay-Devgn directorial, Mayday, in Mumbai. He is expected to start work on Vikas Bahl’s Deadly, the Prabhas and Deepika Padukone starrer, apart from promoting his other three releases this year, Chehre, Jhund and possibly Brahmastra.
