Pak narcos’ bid to push in drugs foiled
Srinagar: The security forces on Wednesday claimed foiling an alleged infiltration and narco-smuggling bid from across the LoC in J&K’s Kupwara district. The officials said that a joint team of Army, Border Security Force (BSF) and J&K police seized ten kilograms of contraband during an operation in Tanghdar sector of the LoC on Tuesday night. However, no arrests are reported to have been made. They said that the smugglers were carrying the consignment of the contraband valuing approximately `50 million in the international market from across the de facto border. A heroin consignment was recovered from the same area in a similar joint operation about a week ago. The police has registered a case under the relevant provisions of the law and are ascertaining as to who had to receive the consignment on the Indian side of the LoC.
