Ever since Dharma Productions put out a note stating that they were recasting Dostana 2, the talk in the market has been about who will be in, who will be out. But even before that, there was a speculation that Karthik Aaryan was out of the film. And now the buzz is that Karan Johar ha s turned to Akshay Kumar to replace Karthik. “Due to professional circumstances…we will be recasting Dostana 2, directed by Collin D’Cunha. Please wait for the official announcement soon,” the note had said. There was no mention that Karthik Aaryan was no longer part of the cast, but rumours are rife that Karthik had been “unprofessional” and had demanded “creative changes” in the film had been spreading.
