Shiv Sena, NCP, and Congress, on Sunday, slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the completion of seven years of the NDA government at the Centre. The Congress, on Sunday, observed black day across Maharashtra. Shiv Sena said that the Modi government has nothing new to offer to the people of the country.

Shiv Sena spokesperson and Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Raut said that the country is surviving as a nation due to the good deeds of the Congress governments under the leaderships of late former Prime Ministers Jawaharlal Nehru, Rajiv Gandhi, P.V. Narasimha Rao, and former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh.

“Under the regime of Congress prime ministers, many new projects were undertaken and new schemes were rolled out. The Modi government did not offer anything new,” he said.

Mr Raut also advised the Central government to introspect the chaos, inflation, and unemployment which has been caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

“The people have limited. Everyone does not

want to become industrialists like Ambani, Tata, Birla, and Adani. If the people are provided basic things—food and job— they would be happy,” the Shiv Sena leader said.

Maharashtra Congress chief Nana Patole demanded the resignation of PM Modi as the NDA government completed its seven years. Mr Patole said that the coronavirus pandemic is man-made and biological.

“The Central government has committed the sin of killing people by bringing this pandemic into the country. Mr Modi should accept the responsibility and apologise to the people of the country. He should step down from the post of Prime Minister,” the Congress leader said.

The Maharashtra Congress held protests at the district and tehsil levels.
