Amitabh Bachchan will be playing an army officer for the sixth time in his career in the film Goodbye directed by Vikas Bahl.

Earlier, he had acted as an army officer in Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo, Major Saab, Lakshya and Deewar, and as an ex-army officer in Ek Ajnabee. In Goodbye too, he will be portraying a former army officer.

While Neena Gupta plays his wife, Rashmika Mandanna will be seen as his daughter.

“Not many know that Amitji had attempted the Services Selection Board (SSB) interview a few times to join the defence forces, but was not successful. Others like Shah

Rukh Khan, Rahul Dravid and APJ Abdul Kalam were also not able to clear the SSB interview. But then, Bachchan got a few chances to play army men on screen, and he relished those roles as it is like making his dream come true at least in his reel life,” says a source.

Bachchan has other films like Chehre Jhund and Brahmastra waiting for release, apart from two films with Deepika Padukone.
