ODISHA MAN ATTEMPTS TO KILL 4 KIDS, WIFE

A man hailing from Odisha’s Sambalpur district on Saturday attempted to kill his four little daughters and wife by slitting their throats. While his threeyear-old baby succumbed to her injuries, others are battling for life at Sundargarh District Headquarters Hospital. According to reports, the incident occurred at Joutukbahal village under Govindpur police limits. The accused was identified as Suku Oram. The victims are all aged between 2 and 15 years. The reports said, Suku, the father of four daughters attempted to kill his children by slitting their necks with a sharp knife. While a 3-year-old baby died on the spot, three others sustained critical injuries. Source said that the accused also attacked his wife Atebari Oram with the knife. After attacking the children and wife, Suku also attempted to kill self. He has also been seriously injured. “The exact cause behind the incident is yet to be ascertained. However, we have started investigation into the case,” Pratap Rana, inspector of cleared Govindpur Police said, said.
