Odisha boy designs robotic hand, gifts it
Bhubaneswar: Morning shows the day and a class 10 student from Odisha has proved exactly that. Showing an exemplary act on how real talent shines early on, the boy has designed a robotic hand with the help of a high-tech 3D printer and gifted it to a divyang girl.
In an exemplary act of creativity as well as display of big-heart for the people in distress, a Class 10 student, a native of Chandrasekharpur in Bhubaneswar, has successfully designed and developed a robotic hand with the help of a hightech 3D printer and gifted it to a divyang or differently-abled girl.
Saswat Mishra, a student of DAV Public School, gifted the robotic hand to a little amputee girl named Kiran Behera.
The student said that he made the painstaking effort to help the poor divyang girl. He spent `50,000 to `60,000 rupees in assembling a 3D printer machine.
Swaswat studied biomechanical features of a
human hand and then using special modeling techniques, he created a hand model by integrating pin and ball joints and made them ready to use by cables and motors.
The little genius had earlier mesmerised everyone with his knack for innovation. He was earlier felicitated as a junior scientist by the IIIT, Bhubaneswar, for designing a drone all by himself. Saswat said
that he will come up with many such machine-run limbs for differently-abled people if he receives financial backing.
“I love innovations. One day, I realised what If I can make something to alleviate the pain of divyangs or differentlyabled persons who suffer due to loss of their limbs. This idea helped me to make a functional prosthetic hand,” said Saswat.
