A LACK OF WILL
What a shame that in an era when all information is stored digitally, the government has “no data” on the number of migrants who died while walking home at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic. It has “no data” on deaths in the pandemic’s second wave over lack of oxygen. It’s thus no surprise it also claims to be “data less” on the number of farmers who died in protests against the three black laws which eventually had to be repealed. Just for the government’s information, all death certificates are recorded and issued with full particulars. It seems to be a sheer lack of intent to give the farmers’ families their due. Strangely, the government has details of voters’ caste and subcaste when it comes to what equation fits best each constituency. Syed Abdul Monim
