FEARLESS KANGANA FOR TEMPTATION ISLAND REMAKE
The actress’s opinionated views on everything get her a chance to host the bold show
THE SHOW WILL MARK KANGANA’S DEBUT ON THE OTT PLATFORM, NOT AS AN ACTRESS BUT AS A HOST WHO SPEAKS HER MIND ON DATING AND RELATIONSHIPS. SHE HAD EARLIER COLLABORATED WITH EKTA FOR THE FILM JUDGEMENTAL HAI KYA? AND THE TWO HAD SEEMINGLY HIT IT OFF THEN
Last year, Kangana Ranaut was signed on by Ekta Kapoor to host a show — the Indian adaptation of the popular show on dating, Temptation Island. But the COVID situation pushed the show behind. Considered one of the boldest shows on the planet, Temptation Island was hosted by Mark L Walberg, with its first edition in 2001 bringing in over 16 million viewers.
Our source tells us that Kangana was to start the reality show to be aired on Ekta’s platform AltBalaji. The show was to have four sets of singles — both male and female — who’d be put in groups of single females and males and then allowed to date, to break up with their existing partners and/or make new partners.
“It’s like a different version of Bigg Boss but more inclined towards the dating angle,” explains our source.
“The show has still not been adapted on Indian television because it’s considered a bit too bold for Indian TV, but the OTT have served as the right platform for the subject of the show, which is also about fickle relationships.” Sources inform us that the show will soon mount the floors.
The makers are billing the show as a fearless one slated to be streamed live 24×7. Kangana’s personality and her fearless and opinionated views on everything are apparently why she’s brought on board.
