Lilibet’s rarely-seen photo released
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have shared a photo of their 1-yr-old daughter
Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, have released a new photo of their daughter Lilibet, who turned one on Saturday at Frogmore Cottage in Windsor, UK, according to a family spokesperson.
The couple “remain incredibly touched by the countless birthday wishes for their daughter, Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor,” the spokesperson said, adding that they were “amazed to learn” that donations in her honour totaled more than $100,000 to the World Central Kitchen (WCK).
“WCK is the first to respond to humanitarian, climate, and community crises by providing meals. They use locally led solutions to build resilient food systems. They recently provided assistance in Uvalde, Texas, and Ukraine,” according to the spokesperson, who added that the organisation is ‘particularly close to their hearts’.”
Lilibet is wearing a blue dress and a white bow in her hair as she sits on the grass of her family’s UK home. Lilbet appears to have inherited her father’s red hair, as does her brother Archie. “The candid, spontaneous photograph that the Duke and Duchess are pleased to share today was taken by a close family friend and guest, Misan Harriman, who attended Lilibet’s special day with his wife and children,” the spokesperson said.
More information about Lilibet’s birthday celebrations was revealed, including the fact that the baker who made her birthday cake, Claire Ptak, also created the Duke and Duchess’ wedding cake in 2018.
Harry and Meghan had travelled to the United Kingdom to mark the Queen’s jubilee, a four-day holiday weekend commemorating the Queen’s unprecedented 70-year reign. The couple made their first public appearance at a royal event in more than two years on Friday, when they attended a thanksgiving service for the monarch at St Paul’s Cathedral.
