Sivakarthikeyan, who is enjoying a great run, starting with Doctor, was in an upbeat mood at the ‘success meet’ of Don. And so were Udhayanidhi Stalin, who released the movie, and others involved.

Don has reportedly reached the Rs.100-crore mark within a short time.

Speaking on the occasion, Sivakarthikeyan said “I agreed to be part of Don as I liked the energy and emotions in the script. I made the film on a first copy basis for Lyca Productions. Since Cibi Chakravarthy was a debutant director, they gave me only a limited budget.”

On a lighter vein, he said, “I’m being asked to throw a party for the success of the film. But you should ask Lyca and Udhayanidhi Stalin Sir to throw one, as it was they who produced and released the film respectively and the money collected belongs to them.”

Udhayanidhi, on his part, revealed that he had been offered the part in Don. “Cibi approached me first with the Don script. Since I felt I wouldn’t be able to handle the school portions and the final emotional scenes, I turned it down. I feel it has gone to the right person — Siva, who has simply excelled in those sequences,” he said.
