36-yr-old kills man, has sex with corpse

Victim agreed to get intimate but later denied, accused arrested

- BHASKAR HARI SHARMA NEW DELHI, MARCH 24

A 36-year-old man was arrested for killing another man and then having sex with his body, in a suspected case of necrophilia, police said on Friday.

The victim had initially accepted `500 for getting intimate with the accused but after reaching the residence of the accused, he withdrew his consent that angered the accused which led to the killing, they said. After that, he also inflicted injuries with the help of a knife on the victim’s neck and upper arm to check whether he was alive or not. After confirming victim’s death, he did “unnatural sex” with him. After covering the victim’s body with a blanket, the accused ran away from the spot and switched off his mobile phone, according to police.

The incident took place on February 9 at the residence of accused Pervinder in outer Delhi's Alipur area, they said.

On February 11, police received a call about a body by the owner of the residence where accused Pervinder resided as his tenant. Initially, the owner though that the body was of his tenant but when police reached the house, they found a body lying in the room in naked condition and blood was oozing from deceased’s head, upper arm and anal part, a senior police officer said.

Police suspected Pervinder to be the prime accused since he was absconding and his mobile phone was switched off, he said.

The body was preserved at Babu Jagjivan Ram Memorial Hospital Jahangirpuri and a case was registered under section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code, police said, adding the identity of the deceased was established later.

Deputy commissioner of police (outer north) Ravi Kumar Singh said, during prime suspect, who hailed from Sonipat, was residing as a tenant at a house in Alipur area from where the victim's body was recovered. During investigation, it was found out that the accused had not visited at his rented house since last two days. No one knew about his whereabouts since he lived alone and never interacted much with his neighbours.

Pervinder worked as a helper at a cycle repairing shop in Singhu village and was addicted to alcohol, he said.

More than 100 cameras were checked but the accused could not be traced out and after obtaining his call detail record, police examined the relatives and friends of the suspect during which it came to notice that Pervinder was living alone in a rented room at Singhu village from the last four months. His wife used to live with him but she also left him due to his alcohol addiction and need for unnatural sex, he added.

On March 22, police has laid a trap at his home in Jhanti Kalan but he had already left the place. When accused Pervinder was going towards Singhu village bus stand, he was arrested from near a park situated in the same village, the DCP said.
