Delhi BJP’s ‘Jhootha Kahin Ka’ drive against CM bites dust

- BHASKAR HARI SHARMA NEW DELHI, MAY 17

The Delhi BJP’s ambitious plan to corner chief minister Arvind Kejriwal over `45 crore renovation of his official residence has failed to create a buzz among its cadre and Delhiites.

Following the reports that nearly `45 crore were spent on the renovation of CM’s 6 Flag Staff Road residence, the city BJP had announced 0Jhoota Kahin Ka0 campaign to expose the AAP supremo’s alleged lies, deceit and corruption to the people of Delhi. It is learnt that neither cadre nor public has shown much interest in the saffron party’s campaign.

0As it has come to notice that the campaign failed to attract audience, Delhi BJP vice-president Ashok Goel, who is overseeing the campaign, personally called up several districts units to pull up their socks to make it a success. Despite all out efforts by the Mr Goel, it almost failed to garner the expected support,0 the party sources claimed.

Party insiders also admitted that soon after the launch of this campaign, the party leadership also felt that it could not create a buzz within or outside the party.

A senior BJP leader blamed multiple programs of party for the failure of the campaign. 0 On the same day the party launched another program, 0Jan chetana Abhiyan0, to highlight alleged lies and corruption of the AAP including the renovation of the CM’s official residence at the cost of `45 crore and in couple of days the party also launched special screenings of 0The Kerala Story0 particularly for women and young girls, after which the party workers were opting to focus on the movies rather than the 0Jhoota Kahin Ka0.

At least 4200 of such shows were planned but it did not bring results as expected by the saffron party while the lack of enthusiasm was visible among the party workers.

Several attempts were made to contact Mr Goel to take his reaction but he did not respond to the calls.
