- AGE CORRESPONDENT with agencies input NEW DELHI, MAY 25

The directorate general of civil aviation (DGCA) has given one month’s time to Go First to submit a comprehensive restructuring or revival plan after the cash-strapped airline informed the government about its intention to restart operations soon. DGCA has said it will first conduct an audit of Go First’s preparedness before approving the resumption of flight operations.

According to DGCA officials, Go First submitted its response to the DGCA show cause notice of May 5,.2023, wherein they have requested that they may be allowed to use the moratorium period to prepare a comprehensive restructuring plan for restarting operations and present the same to DGCA for the requisite regulatory approvals before restarting operations.

However, Go First airlines had informed DGCA that they do not have a ‘definite timeline’ yet for the resumption of operations.

“DGCA has advised the airline on 24.05.2023 to submit, within a period of 30 days, a comprehensive restructuring/revival plan for a sustainable revival of operations. The airline has been asked to furnish, inter-alia, the status of availability of operational aircraft fleet, post holders required, pilots and other personnel, maintenance arrangements, funding/working capital, arrangements with lessors and vendors etc. for sustainable revival of operations,” DGCA officials said.

The revival plan once submitted by Go First shall be reviewed by DGCA for further appropriate action in the matter, officials added.

Meanwhile, a judge of the Delhi high court Thursday recused herself from hearing a batch of pleas by aircraft lessors of Go First seeking directions to the authorities to release their planes leased to the crisis-hit airline.
