Minor girl abducted, raped & murdered in Swaroop Nagar
A nine-year-old girl was kidnapped, raped, killed, and dumped into a canal by her 52-year-old landlord in Outer Delhi’s Swaroop Nagar area, an official said on Tuesday.
According to the police, the kidnapping of a girl, a resident of Nangli Poona village, was reported at Swaroop Nagar police station at 8.30 pm on December 12.
Immediately, an FIR under Section 363 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered at Swaroop Nagar police station and a probe was initiated.
The victim’s family has demanded capital punishment for the accused, who has been arrested. The locals and her family members staged a protest in their locality to demand justice.
According to the investigators,
ACCORDING TO the investigators, the accused took her to an isolated area where he allegedly raped her in his car. To hide his crime, he strangled her and then dumped her body in Munak Canal around 6.30 pm.

The official said that the parents of the girl work in a factory as labourers and live in rented accommodation.
“While the search for the girl was going on, the police scanned the CCTV footage and traced the accused, who is the landlord of the victim. However, when the police team went to arrest him, it was revealed that the accused was admitted to a hospital at Rohini due to a traffic accident on December 15 and was unfit for statement,” said a senior police official.
During further investigation, it was found that the girl sat in the vehicle of the accused from a nearby street on December 12 at around 2.00 pm.
“On Sunday night, when he became fit for statement, the accused confessed to abducting and killing the girl on December 12. As per initial confession, he had dumped the body in Munak canal,” said the official.
Later on, additional sections of the IPC and Section 6 of the POCSO Act were added to the FIR.
Since December 17, five divers have been deputed to search for the body of the girl in the canal.
“Teams have also been formed to check the entire route taken by the accused on December 12 as per technical surveillance,” said the official.
“After he was discharged, he was placed under arrest. The search for the victim’s body is going on,” the official added.
The victim’s parents work in a factory as labourers and live in a rented accommodation.
“My daughter was playing outside our house when he kidnapped her. He must be hanged to death for his act,” the victim’s father said.
The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW), meanwhile, took suo motu cognisance of the case and sent a notice to the SHO of Swaroop Nagar regarding the detailed action taken in the matter.
