Can Ram, naam, kaam steer BJP victory with 5L margin?

Delhi unit holds meet, decision on last 2 LS seats soon

After two consecutiv­e clean sweeps in the Lok Sabha polls, the Delhi BJP has set a benchmark of notching a victory margin of at least five lakh votes in each of the seven constituen­cies by undertakin­g a massive voter outreach under the party’s call for mobilising the electorate­s through “Ram (Lord), Naam (PM Modi), and Kaam (achievemen­ts of BJP).”

Raising the bar, Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva has directed the cadre to ensure a winning margin of at least five lakhs on each seat.

A party insider told this newspaper that “last time, the party’s lowest winning margin was 2,28,145 votes in Chandni Chowk constituen­cy while the highest margin was in West Delhi constituen­cy with 5,78,486 votes. But this time we are raising our bar to win all the seven

seats with at least a winning margin of five lakh.”

A senior BJP leader said, “To get this winning margin we will be reaching out to the people with ‘(Lord) Ram, (PM Modi) Naam, and Kaam,’ which

the country under Prime Narendra Modi.”

Further, an election management meeting was also held on Tuesday evening with all the city unit stakeholde­rs and

achieved Minister office

After the meeting, the party will brief the booth level ‘karyakarta­s’ to accomplish this target by going out with Ayodhya Ram Mandir, PM Modi’s name, and the work done by the government till now.

Of the five candidates announced by the BJP, four are new faces. The party is expected to announce candidates for the remaining two seats by Saturday.

It is pertinent to mention that since 2014, the BJP has swept all seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi.

This time, the party has fielded Bansuri Swaraj from the New Delhi seat, Kamaljit Sehrawat from West Delhi, Ramvir Singh Bidhuri from South Delhi, Praveen Khandelwal from Chandni Chowk, and Manoj Tiwari from Northeast Delhi.

As of now, apart from Mr Tiwari, not even a single sitting MP has been given a ticket. bearers to accomplish this winning margin.
