Demolish dictatorship: Sunita Kejriwal holds 1st roadshow
The Aam Aadmi Party started its third phase of the campaign for the Lok Sabha elections with chief minister Arvind Kejriwal’s wife Sunita Kejriwal holding her maiden roadshow in support of party’s East Delhi candidate Kuldeep Kumar on Saturday evening. Arvind Kejriwal is a “sher” (lion) and nobody can break him, said Ms Kejriwal while standing through the sunroof of a vehicle and greeting the people of the area in the roadshow. The party workers and supporters brandished the AAP flag with cutouts of Mr Kejriwal and placards bearing the message, ‘Jail ka Jawab Vote se’ (Answer Jail with Votes).
Addressing the public, Ms Kejriwal said these people (BJP) have forcibly kept Mr Kejriwal in jail for a month and so far no court has held him. Urging public to “dismantle dictatorship with the power of votes and safeguard of precious democracy”, she said the BJP is saying that the investigation is going on. “If this investigation goes on for 10 years, then these people will keep him in jail for 10 years. Earlier, someone used to go to the jail only when the court held him guilty. Now they have come up with a new system. They say that till the investigation goes on, one will have to stay in jail. This is sheer hooliganism, dictatorship on their part”, Ms Kejriwal claimed.
Ms Kejriwal said, “Your CM is a ‘sher’, nobody can break him or make him bow down. He was jailed because he built schools, provided free electricity and opened Mohalla Clinics. We will vote to remove dictatorship and save democracy,” Ms Kejriwal said.
“Mr Kejriwal has been suffering from diabetes for the last 22 years and has been taking 50 units of insulin daily for 12 years.
They (BJP administration) stopped his insulin in the jail. His sugar level reached above 300. At this rate, his kidneys and liver will get damaged. Do these people want to kill him?” she questioned.
Appealing to vote in favour of the party, she said, “Using your vote correctly, we will save our democracy from these people and remove dictatorship. We will all fight together and win. This time we will answer jail with our votes”.
