Cong, AAP netas chalk out plan for Phase 6 Delhi polls
In order to chalk out the future strategies ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, the top leadership of the Delhi Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday held its second coordination committee meeting where all 14 coordinators, seven from each party, interacted with each other for the first time.
Delhi Congress interim chief Devender Yadav said that the meeting was held to plan better coordination between the workers of the parties.
“We held a meeting in order to make better coordination between the workers of both the parties. We have taken some important decisions in the meeting. Seven coordinators from both the parties have been elected,” Mr Yadav stated.
Apart from Mr Yadav, the meeting was attended by senior leaders including Subhash Chopra, Anil Bhardwaj, and Ramesh Kumar from the Congress. While Durgesh Pathak, Dilip Pandey, Punardeep Singh Sawhney, and others attended the meeting from AAP.
After the meeting, Mr Pathank said, “When the alliance was made, it was very important to find out how the coordination will take place. For that, a meeting of all the coordinators was held here on Friday.”
Under a seat-sharing arrangement between the two constituents of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA), the Congress has fielded candidates from three of the seven seats. The AAP is contesting the remaining four.
Polling is scheduled in the national capital on May 25 in the sixth round of the seven-phase elections.
The responsibility of coordination in the New Delhi Lok Sabha constituency has been given to AAP MLA Rajesh Gupta while the West Delhi coordination will be looked after by AAP MLA Naresh Balyan.
AAP MLA Dinesh Mohaniya will be the coordinator for the South Delhi Lok Sabha constituency, AAP leader Pawan Sharma for Chandni Chowk, and AAP leader Mukesh Ahlawat for Northwest Delhi.
AAP Burari MLA Sanjeev Jha will be the coordinator for the Northeast Delhi constituency and AAP Timarpur MLA Dilip Pandey for East Delhi.
