Writer and actor from New York City Eboni Booth has won the 2024 Pulitzer Prize for Drama for her work, Primary Trust. She is currently a playwrighting fellow at Julliard. Booth is known for Daredevil (2015), Come Play (2020) and We Were the Lucky Ones (2024). Primary Trust is a stage play that tells the story of Kenneth, a bookstore worker who embarks on a journey of self-discovery. After being laid off from his long-time job, he considers applying for a new one at the Primary Trust Bank. The play premiered Off-Broadway at the Laura Pels Theatre. The production was directed by Knud Adams. William Jackson Harper won an Obie Award for distinguished performance, and it was nominated for Outstanding Play by the Lucille Lortel Awards.
