Preparing for the Assembly election to be held in November-December this year, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) is all set to kick start a public campaign, “jan aabhar yatra” to garner support, especially that of tribal community.
Chief minister, Hemant Soren will lead the campaign along with the senior leaders of the party, including former CM Champai Soren.
The party insiders said a proper strategy is being chalked out for the proposed campaign, whichwill touch all 81 Assembly constituencies in the state in a few months, with a special impetus on the tribal areas. The yatra could begin in a fortnight.
In this outreach programme, the party leaders will also explain to its cadre and supporters that how the BJP attempted to dethrone an elected government led by a tribal leader through the misuse of Central probe agencies like CBI and ED, sources added.
This yatra is focused on organising the party’s cadre and oiling its machinery for the upcoming Assembly elections and to meet JMM workers and office-bearers to set up the tone for our poll preparations, a party insider said.
The senior office bearers and MPs and MLAs of the party will be entrusted with specific numbers of the constituencies for this outreach programme and they will explain the development works made by the government in the last five years.
JMM dismissed reports that claimed former CM Champai Soren was upset over his resignation and was forced to do so.
