Dr RD Choudhury cremated
GUWAHATI, Oct 26: The mortal remains of Dr Rabin Dev Choudhury, former Director General of National Museum, New Delhi and an internationally-reputed archaeologist of Assam, who died yesterday after protracted illness, were consigned to the flames at the Navagraha crematorium in the city this afternoon.

Dev Choudhury!s mortal remains were taken to the Ananda Nagar Sports and Cultural Club at Parag Das Path, FCI, in the city. The members of the club while paying floral tributes to his mortal remains remembered his social contributions to the society as a resident of the locality. Dr Dev Choudhury was instrumental in establishing the club and was also the president of the 13-year-old local Durga
Puja celebration committee during its initial three years. Club members Dr Paranjoy Bordoloi, Ashim Kr Sarma, Partha Pratim Hazarika, Siddhartha Bhattacharya, Sunil Kr Bhattacharjya, Naba Sarma among others, were present.
His body was also taken to the Assam State Museum, Directorate of Archaeology and the office of the Art History Congress in the city before the cremation.
