Book on Sankaradev­a!s philosophy released

GUWAHATI, Oct 26: $Some articles written by Prabodh Chandra Sharma, which I read in my early days, helped in shaping my thinking. He was very logical in his thoughts and his view on every subject was very clear and precise,% said former president of the Asam Sahitya Sabha and editor of Gariyoshi, Dr Dhrubajyot­i Bora while releasing a book titled Mahapurush Sankardeva­r Darshan ! Ek Nabya Chintan here today.

The book is a collection of articles on Mahapurush Srimanta Sankaradev­a!s philosophy penned by late Prabodh Chandra Sharma.

Those articles were published in various magazines and journals earlier. The

book published by Beenu Sharma carries 14 articles, ten of them written in Assamese and four in English. Notably, the writer wrote these articles under the pen name "Saitanya Kashyap!.

The book was released in a function organised on the occasion of the 90th birthday of the late writer by the Prabodh Chandra Sharma Memorial Trust.

Releasing the book, Dr Bora further said the book will be very helpful in understand­ing the works and contributi­ons of Srimanta Sankaradev­a and his philosophy.

Bora added.

Educationi­st Dr Dayananda Pathak attended the occasion as a guest of honour. In his speech, Dr Pathak recalled the contributi­ons of engineer, musician and thinker late Prabodh Chandra Sharma.

$It is a great initiative taken by the family members of late Sharma and the Trust to promote the works of the great thinker and writer. The book will be very helpful for new generation to understand Srimanta Sankaradev­a,% Dr Pathak said.

Artist Champak Barbara, who designed the cover of the book, artist Noni Borpuzari, senior journalist Manoram Gogoi, Manoj Nath, singer Sadananda Gogoi and critic Pranab Kumar Sarma along with a host of dignitarie­s were present at the event.
