GUWAHATI, Oct 26: Citing improvement in the Covid situation, the State government has relaxed the night curfew timing and it will now be imposed from 11 pm to 5 am.

Workplaces and business establishments can function up to 10 pm.

Ironically, while election rallies are witnessing gatherings of hundreds of people, the new SOP has allowed only 50 vaccinated persons for marriages, funerals and other religious functions.

At iconic religious places, 60 vaccinated people will be allowed per hour and 40 in other religious places.

Weekly haats can open for six hours, while cinema halls can operate with 50 per cent capacity with vaccinated viewers.

The new SOP, which comes into immediate effect, said the daily new Covid cases are hovering between 300 and 400, mostly reported from urban and peri-urban areas and most of the districts are reporting less than 10 cases per day for the last four-five weeks.

The vaccination status has also picked up in the State with 95 per cent of the total eligible population receiving at least one dose and 31 per cent getting both the doses.
