In a re­cent de­vel­op­ment, Ab­hishek Joshi has been roped in as chief mar­ket­ing of­fi­cer (CMO) and head of busi­ness part­ner­ships at MX Player. Prior to this, Joshi was work­ing as the SVP and head-mar­ket­ing, sub­scrip­tions and con­tent li­cens­ing - dig­i­tal busi­ness at Sony Pic­tures Net­works In­dia. Joshi brings with him over 15 years of ex­ten­sive ex­pe­ri­ence in mar­ket­ing, an­a­lyt­ics, busi­ness de­vel­op­ment and con­tent part­ner­ships, strat­egy busi­ness plan­ning and ex­e­cu­tion ex­per­tise span­ning across tele­vi­sion net­works, in­ter­net video, con­tent dis­tri­bu­tion, ad agen­cies and brand li­cens­ing and mar­ket­ing.

Hot­star

Hot­star, a pre­mium stream­ing plat­form, re­cently an­nounced the ap­point­ment of Sameer Kapoor as vice-pres­i­dent, agency ad sales. In his new role, Kapoor will be re­spon­si­ble for driv­ing re­la­tion­ships with me­dia agen­cies to de­liver mea­sur­able and im­pact­ful me­dia strat­egy for clients through Hot­star. Kapoor brings over 17 years of me­dia and mar­ket­ing ex­pe­ri­ence to the ta­ble, hav­ing man­aged off­line and on­line plat­forms in lead­er­ship roles across di­verse in­dus­tries and ge­ogra­phies. He joins Hot­star from Google, where he was head of brand mea­sure­ment for the In­dia and South­east Asia mar­kets.

Stu­dio Mojo

Stu­dio Mojo, a Ban­ga­lore­based re­gional video net­work, has roped in Mithun Koroth as its busi­ness de­vel­op­ment di­rec­tor. Koroth will work with OTT plat­forms for cre­at­ing orig­i­nal pro­gram­ming in var­i­ous re­gional lan­guages. He will also be re­spon­si­ble for li­cens­ing re­gional lan­guage con­tent to Tel­cos, IPTV play­ers and OTT play­ers both in In­dia and in mar­kets such as Mid­dle East and North Africa re­gion and South­east Asia.

Oplifi

The pro­gram­matic com­pany, Oplifi, has ap­pointed Deepak Bhutani as head of busi­ness de­vel­op­ment of the com­pany. Bhutani will be based out of Oplifi’s Mum­bai of­fice and will drive the growth across APAC and Mid­dle East mar­kets. Bhutani has over two decades of ex­pe­ri­ence and has worked with com­pa­nies such as The Times of In­dia, Ya­hoo! and Komli Me­dia.
