Khushbu Shah, general manager marketing, English entertainment cluster, Times Network, has quit the company. October 26 was her last day at the company. Shah joined the network in September 2016 and was working for two years. Prior to that, she worked with Fame Digital as senior manager - marketing. Before that, she worked with 9X Media as senior manager - marketing for five years. In the past Shah has worked with Bennett Coleman and Co, Rediffusion DY&R and Times of India.
Initiative, IPG Mediabrands’ media agency, has appointed Alok Sinha as chief strategy officer (CSO). In his new role, Sinha will drive Initiative’s strategic planning nationally and will work collaboratively with all clients of the agency. Sinha moves from Ogilvy & Mather, where he headed strategy for the northern region as president planning.
Global communications group Havas, has promoted Anita Nayyar to CEO of Havas Media Southeast Asia (SEA). It is in addition to her role as CEO of Havas Media India. In this newlycreated role, Nayyar’s expertise will enable brands in India to expand their footprint to SEA. She will work closely with regional and local leadership in SEA, and will report to Vishnu Mohan, chairman and CEO of Havas Group, India and Southeast Asia. The appointment is effective immediately.
Sony Pictures Networks India (SPN) has roped in Indranil Chakravorty as the head of StudioNEXT, its independent production venture. Chakravorty will be reporting to Danish Khan. Together, Chakravorty and Khan will set up the studio business. StudioNEXT has been mandated to create original content and IPs for TV and digital media. An independent business unit of SPN, StudioNEXT will function as a content creator for SPN media business as well as for other channels, networks and OTT players within India and globally.
ZEE5 India, one of the largest OTT platforms known for its muscle in multi-lingual content, has announced the appointment of Taranjeet Singh as the chief revenue officer and business head - new projects for the platform. Singh comes with extensive experience in the media and entertainment space. Prior to joining ZEE5, he was leading business for the Indian operations of Twitter. He brings with him a rich body of experience across strategy, revenue management, people relations, data analytics, forecasting and has worked with some of the leaders in the M&E space including BBC Worldwide, Outlook Publishing, The Pioneer and so on.
