Putting speculation to rest Chhattisgarh Jaanata Congress chief Ajit Jogi has announced to contest the upcoming state assembly polls from the Rajnandgaon constituency. The former Chief Minister of Chharrisgarh said that he is going to contest from Rajnandgaon constituency not from his traditional Marwahi seat. He even announced his daughter in-law Richa Jogi as Rajnanandgaon district chief. Rumors about Jogi contesting from Marwahi started to proliferate when his son Amit Jogi told reporters that he won’t come in between Marwahi and his father as the seat has been close to his father and the people of Marwahi have special feelings about the first CM of the state.

Miffed with Congress high-command neglect, Jogi has floated his own party which has announced candidates for around 36 seats. However, neither Amit Jogi nor his daughter in-law Richa Jogi figures in this list, which reflects that Jogi may contest from Marwahi too.
