Sharad Yadav-Upendra Kushwaha Finds Possibility of Third Front in Bihar

The Day After - - STATES DIARY -

Sharad Yadav who was busy giving shape to the Mahagathbandhan is probably chalking out a third front in Bihar with Left and RLSP. Some leaders with big political ambitions are planning a third front. If the Left parties don’t get good seats; they might part ways with the RJD-Congress alliance. Interestingly, there is buzz that Union Minister Upendra Kushwaha will also join the front if Kushwaha doesn’t get a respectable seat either from UPA or NDA. Third front may project Kushwaha as its CM candidate.

Left Front in Bihar — the CPI, CPM, and CPML — have a base in different areas of the State. While the CPML has a good hold in central Bihar i.e. Arrah and Bhojpur, the CPI rules the roost in Champaran and Begusarai. Probably Lalu Prasad doesn’t want to leave more than three seats for the Left, while they need at least five.
