Leader of Opposition (Lok Sabha) Sushma Swaraj was present as the chief guest on the occasion. Swaraj also inaugurated the vikas yatra which began from Arang on the day. Singh laid the foundation stone of 1347 houses to be built under Atal Vihar Yojana of the state government. Possession letter to 110 families were distributed of newly built houses under Deendayal Awas Yoajan on the occasion. Leader of Opposition Sushma Swaraj reached here via flight at Vivekananda Airport where she was given a warm welcome by the chief minister and headed towards Arang where they were received by a crowd of people waiting there for them to reach. Chief minister Raman Singh addressed the newlyelected executive members of Chhattisgarh State Tennis Association on Monday. The members of the association had come to meet the CM after their appointment in the association. The CM credited the sports associations for creating positive environment for sports in the state and expressed his satisfaction for increasing interests of youth in sports. Singh hoped that talented individuals in the state will make their way for higher levels in sports through such associations. Singh congratulated president of the association Vikram Sisodia and other members for their election. Sisodia said the construction of tennis courts in Rajnandgaon, Korba and Jagdalpur would get completed soon and also reminded of the courts being inaugurated by the CM at Sarguja, Bijapur and Kawardha. General secretary Gurucharan Singh Hora informed about 40 tennis courts have been built so far and tennis has gained popularity among youth for last three years. Hora also said ITF competitions will be organsied in future to promote the game. Treasurer of the association Lawrence Santiago proposed vote of thanks in the end of the meeting. Sanjay Shikla and other executive members of the association were present on the occasion.
