The director tries a new mantra to scare the audience

- LIPIKA VARMA

In a bid to separate himself from the rest of the Bollywood crowd, producer Vikram Bhatt who can never see beyond the horror genre will have no sex or songs in his upcoming horror film, 'Horror Story’.

“The film relentlessly showcases horror. I assure you that it’s horror from the first scene to the last and has been shot in an international format. The highlight of the film is that there is no song and no other frills. We have introduced a lot of new talent through this film and they have done a fabulous job. The film is all set to give the audiences an edge-of-the-seat experience," says Vikram and adds, “Forget about sex. I think sex is in the minds.”

When asked about the lack of stars in the film, he replies, “My film does not need stars. So, I take the trouble of giving a launch pad to newcomers. This definitely brings in new faces for the celluloid. However, I feel big stars cannot turn the audience fearful!”

Revealing the plot, he shares, “It revolves around seven youngsters who challenge each other to spend the night at the infamous hotel in the heart of the city. Little did the friends know that their idea of fun will turn out to be the most horrendous night of their life?”

Talking about his expectations from the film, Vikram says, “Hope the horror film is fearful enough for the audiences to clinch their teeth and stick to their seats. If they do so, I will feel I have been successful in frightening them to the heights of fearfulness.”

Karan Kundra, the television star debuts with this horror flick, with Ravish Desai, Hasan Zaidi, Nishant Malkani, Aparna Bajpai, Radhika Menon, Nandini Vaid. It releases on September 13, 2013 and the film is produced by ASA Production and Enterprises Pvt Ltd and is directed by Ayush Raina.
